G7 Environment in Metz: a major international summit

Rental of a bamboo tent for the G7 environment. Participation in a public event in Paris Chosen to host the G7 Environment on May 5 and 6, 2019, the city of Metz had the idea of building an eco-citizen village ahead of the event. Offering workshops, events and conferences on the theme of sustainable development, this festival therefore required a structure that reflected its commitments. Designated host city of the G7 Environment by the Minister of Ecological and Inclusive Transition, Metz welcomed the Ministers of the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, Italy, the United States, Germany and France in early May to that they discuss together the issues of ecological transition on an international level. With this initiative, the French commune had the idea of building an eco-citizen village, in partnership with the ÉCOmains collective. Built in the gardens of Jean-Marie Pelt and the Parc de la Seille on May 3 and 4, the festival brought together around forty exhibitors who offered workshops, conferences and activities on themes related to the environment.< /p>

Hiring a bamboo tent for the G7 Environment

Chosen to host the G7 Environment on 5 and 6 May 2019, the city of Metz had the idea of erecting an eco-citizen village before the event. Offering workshops, events and conferences on the theme of sustainable development, this festival needed a structure that reflected its commitments.

Participation in a public event in Paris

Designated as the host city of the G7 Environment by the Minister of Ecological and Solidarity Transition, Metz welcomed the Ministers of the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, Italy, the United States, Germany and France at the beginning of May to discuss the challenges of the ecological transition at the international level.
At this initiative, the French commune had the idea of building an eco-citizen village, in partnership with the ECOmains collective. Set up in the gardens of Jean-Marie Pelt and the Parc de la Seille on 3 and 4 May, the festival brought together some forty exhibitors who offered workshops, conferences and activities on environmental themes.

An eco-responsible structure for a green public event

In order to host these dialogues on ecology in the presence of a hundred or so local, national and European organisations, Metz City Council was looking for an eco-friendly structure that reflected their commitments. So they decided on a 375 m2 Bamboo tent, whose cream-coloured canvas and bamboo poles were perfectly suited to the "natural" spirit of this institutional event. In addition to the structure, Atawa provided a coconut carpet walkway and various lighting.

Moderated by Laure Noualhat, co-director of the film "Après Demain", and Isabelle Delannoy, theorist of the symbiotic economy, the discussions focused on the young generations, agriculture, sport or zero waste, always with the desire to propose solutions for a sustainable society.
